i-Sprint Innovations Spoke at 2016 CyberSecurity Summit in Hong Kong

i-Sprint Innovations’ Vice Chairman and Chief Technology Officer, Mr Albert Ching, was honored to be invited by Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) as a speaker in 2016 CyberSecurity Summit in Hong Kong from 16 to 17 May.

The summit was organized by the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) and ASTRI, with the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) and the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) as the co-organizers. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) was the programme advisor, and the Innovation and Technology Bureau was the lead supporting organization.

The mission of this summit was to bring insights on the latest issues and trends in cyber security, and food for thoughts on how to mitigate the risk of cyber-attack. Experts and industry leaders from law enforcement agencies and public and private sectors around the world shared their best practices in addressing the emerging challenges of cyber security. This year, the summit also featured a series of workshops to provide hands-on experience with the technologies and techniques in dealing with investigation and mitigation of cyber-attacks.

In this Summit, Mr. Ching shared with the audience on the topic of “The State of Mobile App Security: Risks, Threats, and Countermeasures”. He highlighted that with the exponential growth of the app store economy that resulted in the increasing in the number of apps downloaded, it has caused the protection for mobile apps to be increasingly complex. He has also shared some latest findings on the current security status of mobile apps throughout the world and highlighted some of the key lesson learnt. Albert also shared with the audience how they can respond to the latest mobile security threats.

Dr. Frank Law, the Superintendent, Head, Cyber Security Division, Cyber Security & Technology Crime Bureau, Hong Kong Police Force presented a token of appreciation to Mr. Ching for speaking at the Summit.
